GT was bad for the most part because of its boring execution not ideas. its sense of adventure was done in a very boring way and thats no surprise since toriyama wasn't involved, Daima on the other hand does has his involvement

I would recommend you watch the SUB for Dragon Ball the dub is changing so much of the dialog to such a lower quality and changed so much of the characters it's like a completely different vibe

It's a shame they had to change so much dialogue in the English dub to make it suitable for kids, because the majority of weird stuff that goes on in Dragon Ball is way more perverted in the Japanese dub. That's why a lot of the obscure humour makes no sense.

weird thing is in first episode where goku meet bulma he look under her skirt to see if she had a tail and wigler it around but here she gave him a bath and see the same thing and freaks out thats odd and weird she didnt freakout in the first episode why in the sec one.

i dont care for dragon ball franchise if you call still call it that its more like goku and vegeta show the rest of character abandon tien krillin yamcha and gohan are rarelly there anymore.i just like old once,also where use to be about the dragon balls like dragon ball and gt even know i enjoy z, z super and morden dragon ball series is about fighting villians nothing to do with the dragon balls anymore.

One of the reasons GT is memed is that a lot of western DB fans didn't even watch The original Dragon Ball, so they don't get the callbacks made. But also GT wasn't even that hated until much later after it's run.

Bulma and Vegeta really were a match made in heaven. Cause like her future husband, she flipped off her enemies without a second thought. Then, their own son did the same thing to a failed clone of Broly.

The dragonballs are the most beautiful here than in this whole series. Or..as Ocean dub Frieza would say, "having these balls makes me feel something that resembles joy I think. I want to caress them"

Kakarot is similar to carrot and vegeta is similar to vegetable and I think Gohan is also named after a type of food too. You can see more inspiration from this episode in DBZ since monster carrot may be the inspiration behind majin buu transforming people into food with his magic.

I used to like GT back when I was a teenager, but over the years I just gradually lost taste for it. I'm not about to mindlessly bash that series, even though it's not my cup of tea though. I'm not a fan of that sort of trash talk, and thankfully I've outgrown the stage in my life when I would have engaged in such behavior. As far as GT critiques go, the one I've run across rather often is that the ideas were excellent, but the execution frankly left much to be desired. I haven't given it much thought, but I definitely get where people are coming from with that observation. I won't deny the badassery of Super Saiyan 4, but apart from that, as I said earlier I just don't really dig GT anymore.

The outfit Goku is wearing is from another planet Yardrat crashed there when Goku escaped Namek in a saiyan spaceship that was pre programmed. He didnt had any time so he pressed soms buttons and it went. He was followed and had to defend the people there from danger and he received secret training meant only for the locals there, but eventually earned their trust and got to learn instant transmission. Its a side story told in the manga. This side story can be found on youtube. Goku got his heart virus from there. Toxic environment for Goku on long term.

Madison called it, Trunks is the son of Vegeta and is a time traveler. Figured it out before Goku arrived. Amazing 😅

Gt was not it because they made pan the main character. She was annoying and whiny instead of tough like her mom. The worst version of trunks. Goten essientially was useless. Vegeta took a backseat and Goku as a kid again was just odd. Plus the whole black star dragonball idea was so out of left field and made zero sense.

I think a DB style mix with Z has potential, GT just didn't write it well and the animation was awful for a lot of it. The ending always hits though.

OMG Madison hit the nail on the head already. Goku is a demi-god. He will learn how to power up to saiyan god, how to become the god of destruction, master ultra-instinct and eventually take over the roll of the new zena.

What does Madison think of Bulma not marrying Yamcha, but rather Vegeta instead (after having a child together, this was when Trunks was born)?😅Trunks will slice-and-dice Freeza again, just like Madison predicted before, when she said she felt like its the only way to defeat Freeza. You should have seen this episode by now, if this video was from a year ago.

This has to do more with previous episodes but I think that the landscape shown in these first episodes of Dragonball might have an inspiration in a couple of album portraits of the group Asia, more than anything that of Alpha album. I'm not sure about this but it could be something that Akira Toriyama saw at the time (the mentioned album was released in 1983).

GT did fine back in the day. It wasn't until Super came out that it became popular to hate it for no other reason than "canon". Although I do remember everyone trashing how Trunks turned out. I guess they expected him to be the same way as future Trunks who witnessed every atrocity known to man in his childhood. With that being said, everyone wanted AF to be a thing so bad after GT ended. It's a shame we never got it.

The ship of Freeza was disabled by Vegeta. Vegeta blew up the core of the ship so Freeza couldnt leave.

Why the hell the dub is all totally different than the original japanese talking?,it ruins all the hoke lines its like totally different jokes what a lame dub,like alot of what happening doesnt even make sense cuz of the different joke translation

The discs cant be destroyed because I think in order to destroy one, you need to be stronger. Coz if Im not wrong, Cell was able to stop de disc with his hand. And here Goku didnt destroy the disc because he wanted to use the disc to end Freeza.

It’s never old to see Shenron and also I’ll still give Daima a chance when it comes out since it’s one of the last projects Toriyama worked on before he passed away

My assessment of Buu hitting kid Trunks first is that he sensed that Trunks was stronger than Goten, so he went for him first. Probably a funnier reaction than what we would have gotten from Goten.
